Note:- (i) A ranked list will be prepared for each district in pursuance of this notification. The
Ranked list thus prepared and published by the Commission shall remain in force for a
minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said list will continue to
be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of
one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be
advised for appointment against the aforesaid vacancies and also against the vacancies,
if any, reported during the currency of the lists. In case no candidate is advised from
the ranked list till the expiry of the period of three years, the duration of the ranked list
shall be extended for a further period of one year or till at least one candidate is advised
from the list whichever is earlier.
(ii) The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a Revenue District
basis,subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O(Ms) No 154/71/PD dated
27/05/1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one Revenue district from the
ranked list prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he/she
completes 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the
former district. Even if transfer is allowed after 5 years,it will be subject to the rules in
GO(MS) No.4/61/PD dated,02.01.1961. Candidates already in Government service
holding this post in any one District are prohibited from applying again for this post.
but they can apply to higher posts when notified.
(iii) 3% of vacancies for the post shall be reserved for eligible PH Candidates vide GO (P)
No. 11/2009/SWD dated 10.02.2009.
(iv) Application should not be submitted to more than one district in response to this
notification. If applications are submitted contrary to the above direction and if
selected his/her name will be removed from the ranked lists and disciplinary action will
be taken against him/her. Candidates should note the name of concerned district
against the relevant column of the online application.
5 Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment
6 Age limit : Age :18-40, Only candidates born between 2.1.1972
and 1.1.1994 (both dates included) are eligible to apply
for the post. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST
candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation
Note:- For concessions regarding upper age limit, subject to the condition that the maximum age
limit shall in no case exceed 50 years. Please see para (2) of the General Conditions under part II
of this Notification.

Qualifications:-
A degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed/BT/LT in the concerned subject conferred or
recognized by the Universities in Kerala (Concerned subjects are specified in Note 3(a)
below
Note:- (1) Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education
will be treated as equivalent to Degree for the above purpose
(2) If there is a written test the question for the written test will be in Malayalam
candidates should answer the question in Malayalam.
(3) (a) The applicants should have taken History or Economics or Geography or Politics
or Commerce or Philosophy or Music or Sociology or Psychology as Main Subject for
Graduation.
(b) Graduates in Hindi and Arabic who have taken History as subsidiary for degree
and English and Social Studies for B.Ed are eligible to apply. Graduates in Kannada who
have taken English and Social Studies as optional for B.Ed Course from Karnataka
University are also eligible to apply for the post.
(c) B.A Degree with Islamic History Main, General Economics and Political Science
(Subsidiaries) and B,Ed in History is also acceptable for the above post ( as per GO(MS)
No. 21/94 G. Edn dated 21.02.1994)
(d) Graduates in Islamic History and Arabic main who have taken Social Studies for
B.Ed OR Graduates in Islamic History (Main) and Indian History and Political Science as
subsidiary and B.Ed with History OR Graduates in Islamic History (Main) and Political
Science and General Economic as subsidiaries and B.Ed with Social Studies are also
eligible to apply for the post as per G.O (MS) No.161/88/G.Edn dated 21.10.1988
(e) Graduates in Islamic History and Urdu double main and B.Ed in social studies OR
Graduation in Islamic History Main, General Economics and Indian History (Subsidiaries)
and B.Ed in History OR Graduation in Islamic History and Arabic Main and B.Ed in
History are also eligible to apply for the post (as per GO (MS) No.254/90/G.Edn dated
05.12.1990)
4 Post Graduates in concerned subject with B.Ed/BT/LT in the concerned subject are
also eligible to apply for the post.
8. SPECIAL CONCESSIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT AND AGE LIMIT
(i) Preference will be given as laid down in G.O. (MS) No. 50/70/PD. Dated 12.02.70 and G.O.
(MS)No 9/78/ G.En. Dated 21.1.78 to the wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as
teachers if they possess the prescribed qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those
working in Base Establishment are included under the terms of Jawans. Wives of Jawans
must select “Are you entitled to any priority” as “Yes” on on-line application and give
details in the following space. Such candidates should produce proper certificate from the
Officer Commanding stating the Name, Military rank and Military address of their husbands
and produce the same as and when required by the Commission (G.O. (MS
No.509/64/Edn.Dated 19.9.64, G.O. (Ms)No.614/65/Edn. Dated 9.11.65 and G.O.
(Ms)No.243/66/Edn.Dated 27.05.66)
(ii) Laboratory Attenders in the departmental High Schools in the State who have rendered
atleast 5 years satisfactory service and who possess the prescribed qualification will be
exempted from age limit. They should produce proper certificates from the headmaster of
the school specifying the date of commencement of their service and the total service put in
by them as and when required by the Commission. The candidates who claim exemption on
this will be considered only against vacancies to be filled up by open competition on the
basis of merit alone. (G.O. (MS) No. 315/62/Edn.Dated 14.05.1962)
(iii) First class scouts and guides will be given preference in the matter of appointment as
teachers (G.O.M.S) No.122/75/G.Edn. Dated 27.05.1975)
(iv) Teachers of the Government primary and Nursery Schools who are graduates and are
otherwise qualified will be exempted from upper age limit. (G.O.M.S) No.185/70/Edn.
Dated 18.04.1970 and GO(MS) No.466/70/Edn. Dated 11.11.1970. They should produce
proper certificates from authorities concerned as and when required by the commission.
Note:- The candidates who claim concessions on the basis of any of the reason mentioned in
para 2 of the General conditions should select “Are you eligible for age relaxation” as
'Yes' on the online application and give details in the following space.

10 Mode of submitting application:-
Candidates shall register as per 'ONE TIME REGISTRATION ' system on the Official Website
of Kerala Public Service Commission 'www.keralapsc.org' for applying for the post. Candidates who
have registered shall apply by logging on to their profile using their User- ID and password.
Candidates shall click on the 'Apply Now' button of the respective posts in the Notification link for
applying for a post. No application fee is required. Candidates can view and have a print-out of the
details in the profile by clicking the link Registration Card, if required. Candidates are responsible for
the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of the password. Before applying for a post,
candidates must ensure the correctness of the information on their profile. They shall quote the User-
ID for further communication with the Commission. Applications once submitted will be received as
provisional and particulars shall not be deleted or altered after submission. Applications submitted
not in accordance with the conditions of the notification will be summarily rejected. Documents to
prove Qualification, experience , community, age etc. have to be produced as and when called for .
