Applications must be submitted online through the official website of the Commission after
'ONE TIME REGISTRATION'. Candidates who have already registered can apply through their profile.

Note: (1) Application submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other than those notified
will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued.
(2) Separate Ranked List will be prepared for each District in pursuance of this notification.
Ranked List thus prepared and published as per this notification shall remain in force until
candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for the above
community, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the
Ranked List published for the post in the following district.

(3) Reservation community candidates should submit application for the post to the concerned
District where the vacancy is existing for their respective community and shall note the
name of that district against the relevant column. If applications are submitted contrary to
the above direction and if he/she is selected his/her name will be removed from the Ranked
List and disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.
(4) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a Revenue District basis,
subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O.(MS) No.154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A
candidate advised for appointment in one Revenue District from the Ranked List prepared is
not eligible for transfer to another district unless he/she completes five years continuous
service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer isallowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(MS) No. 4/61/PD, dated
02.01.1961. Candidates already in Government Service holding this post in any one district
are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when
notified.
5. Method of Appointment : Direct Recruitment
(From candidates belong to Other Christian (OX) and Dheevara and
Hindu Nadar Communities only).
6. Age Limit : 18-42. (including the relaxation as per Para 2 (i) of the General Conditions).
Only candidates born between 02.01.1971 and 01.01.1995 (both dates included)
are eligible to apply for this post.
Note:- (1) For other conditions regarding age relaxation please see Para (2) of the General Conditions.
Subject to the Conditions that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years.
(2) Upper age limit of OX community shall be 44 (Forty four) years in the case of adult
members of Scheduled Caste and their children when such adult members are converted to
Christianity).
 Qualifications:-
1. A Pass in Standard VII/III Forum.
2. Must possess valid Heavy Duty Driving Licence of three years standing with endorsement for
driving HP & HG Vehicles and Badge.
3. Proficiency in Driving Medium/Heavy goods/Passenger Motor Vehicles which is to be proved
by a Practical Test conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission during the course of
selection.
4. Medical Fitness:-
(a) Ear-Hearing should be perfect.

(b) Eye-Distant Vision : 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen
Near Vision : 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen
Colour Vision : Normal
Night blindness : Nil
(c) Muscles and joints : No paralysis, all joints with free movement.
(d) Nervous System : Perfectly normal and free from any infectious
diseases.
Note:- (a) Must possess valid Heavy duty Driving License of 3 years standing with endorsement
for driving HP/HG Vehicles and Badge.(b) Candidates called for the Practical Test will have to produce a medical certificate in the
prescribed form in original containing all relevant details as mentioned in item No.4
(Except 4(b) in para 7) above from a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant
Surgeon. A Medical Certificate regarding eye sight as mentioned item 4 b in Para 7
above from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service also will have to be produced.
The prescribed forms will be sent by the District Officer to the candidates along with
admission tickets for practical test.
(c) The Candidates will have to furnish the full details regarding the Driving Licence along
with Qualification in the application.
(d) Physically Handicapped Persons are not eligible to apply for the post.
(e) Candidates should possess a current Driving Licence on the last date of receipt of
application and on the date of Practical Test, Interview.
FORM OF MEDICAL CERTIFICATE REGARDING PHYSICAL FITNESS FOR THE POST
OF DRIVER (LDV/HDV)
(To be filled up by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon)
1. What is the applicant’s apparent age?
2. Is the applicant to the best of your judgement, subject to epilepsy, vertigo or any mental ailment
likely to effect is efficiency?
3. Does the applicant suffer from any heart or lungs disorder which might interfere with the
performance of his duties as a Driver?
4. Does the applicant suffer from any degree of deafness, which would prevent his hearing the
ordinary sound signals? Is his hearing perfect?
5. Has the applicant any deformity or loss of finger, which would interfere with the efficient
performace of his duties as a driver?
6. State of Muscles and Joints (No paralysis and all joints with free movements)
7. State Nervous System (Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases)
8. Does he show any evidence of being addicted to the extensive us of alcohol, tobacco or drinks?
9. Marks of Identification

FORM OF MEDICAL CERTIFICATE REGARDING VISION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER
GRADE II(LDV/HDV)
(To be filled up by an Ophthalmologist in Government Service)
1. Is there any defect of vision?
If so, has it been corrected by suitable spectacles so that the distant vision is 6/6 Snellen and
near vision is 0.5 Snellen.
2. Can the applicant readily distinquish the pigmentary colours red and green?
3. Does the applicant suffer from any night blindness?
I have this day medically examined Shri……………..and found that he has no defect of
vision which would render him unsuitable for the post of Driver Grade II (LDV/HDV) and
his standards of vision are as follows.

 Note:- Details regarding standards of vision shall be clearly stated in the certificate, as given above and
vague statements such as vision Normal etc. will not be accepted. Specification for each eye
should be stated separately. Special attention should be directed to the distant vision.
Required standards of vision are as follows.
Right Eye Left Eye

(b) Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen
 Each eye must have full field of vision.
 Mode of Submitting Applications:-
Before applying for the post, candidates should register as per “ONE TIME REGISTRATION”
scheme through the Official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission ‘ www.keralapsc.gov.in’.
Those who have already registered can apply by logging in to their profile using his/her User-id and
pass word. No application fee is required. Candidates can view, rectify defects and print the details in
the registration card by clicking the link Registration card after entrying the home page. Candidate
are responsible to ensure correctness of the personal informatin and secrecy of password and they
shall keep in mind the user Id for further communication with the Commission. Applications which
are submitted not in accordance with the instructions given in the website will be summarily rejected.
Documents to prove Qualification, age, community etc have to produced as and when called for.

 11. If a written test/OMR test is conducted as part of the Selection, Hall Ticket of eligible Candidates
will be made available in the Website of Kerala Public Service Commission. Candidates are
instructed to download their Hall Tickets as per the instructions in the website.
