(iii) Seperate Ranked list will be prepared for Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur
and Kasaragod districts in pursuance of this notification. Ranked List thus
prepared and published as per this notification shall remain in force until
candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for
the above communities, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates
during the currency of the Ranked List published for the post in the
following district.

(iv) Reservation Community candidates should submit application for the
post to the concerned District Officer where the vacancy is existing for
their respective communities and should note the name of that District
against the relevant column in on-line application. Applications should

not be submitted to more than one district in response to this notification.
If applications are submitted contrary to the above direction and if he/she
is selected his/her name will be removed from the Rank List and
disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.
The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a
revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down
in
G.O (Ms) No. 154/71/PD dated, 27.05.1971. A candidate advised for
appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not
eligible for transfer to another district. Even if transfer is allowed after
five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O(MS) No.4/61/PD dated,
02.01.1961. Candidates already in Government service holding this post
in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but
they can apply to higher posts when notified.
5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment (from candidates belonging to
Scheduled Tribe, and Hindu Nadar communities only) [In the absence of
candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe communities, candidates belonging to
Scheduled Caste will be considered ]
6. Age limit : (1) 18-43. Only candidates born between 02/01/1969 and 01.01.1994
(Both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post in the case of Hindu-
Nadar Community.
(2) 18-45. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1967 and 01.01.1994 (Both
dates included) are eligible to apply for this post in the case of Scheduled
Tribe [including the relaxation as per para 2(i) of General conditions]
Note:- For conditions regarding other age relaxation please see para 2 of the general
conditions, except para 2(i)
7.Qualifications:
A Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed/BT/LT in the concerned subject
conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala . (Concerned subject are
specified in Note iii (a) below.
Note: ( i ) Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher
Education will be treated as equivalent to the Degree for the above purpose.
(ii) If there is a Written test the Question paper for the written test will be in
Malayalam. Candidate should answer the Question in Malayalam.
(iii) (a) The applicants should have taken History or Economics or Geography or
Politics or Commerce or Philosophy or Music or Sociology or Psychology as
Main Subject for Graduation.
(b) Graduates in Hindi and Arabic who have taken History as subsidiary for
degree and English and Social Studies for B.Ed are eligible to apply. Graduates in
Kannada who have taken English and Social Studies as optional for B.Ed Course
from the Karnataka University are eligible to apply for the post.
( c ) B.A degree with Islamic History Main, General Economics and Political
Science (Subsidiaries) and B.Ed in History is also acceptable for the above post
(G O(MS) No.21/94/G.Edn dated 21.2.1994).
(d) Graduates in Islamic History and Arabic main who have taken Social Studies
for B.Ed OR Graduates in Islamic History (Main) and Indian History and Political
Science as subsidiary and B.Ed with History OR Graduates in Islamic History
(Main) and Political Science and General Economics as subsidiaries and B.Ed
with Social Studies are also eligible to apply for the post as per G.O (MS)
No.161/88/G.Edn dated 21.10.1998.
(e) Graduates in Islamic History and Urdu double main and B.Ed in Social
Studies OR Graduation in Islamic History Main, General Economics and Indian
History (subsidiaries) and B.Ed in History OR Graduates in Islamic History and
Arabic Main and B.Ed in History are also eligible to apply for the post GO (MS)
No.254/90/G Edn dated 5.12.1990)
(iv) Post Graduates in concerned subject with B.Ed/BT/LT in the concerned
subject are also eligible to apply for the post.
8. SPECIAL CONCESSIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT AND AGE LIMIT
(i) Preference will be given as laid down in G.O.(MS) No.50/70/PD dated
12.2.70 and G.O.(MS)No.9/78/G.Edn.dated 21.1.78 to the wives of Jawans
in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed
qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those working in Base
establishment are included under the terms of Jawans, Wives of Jawans must
select “Are you entitled to any priority” as “Yes” on on-line application and
give the details in the following space. Such candidates should obtain
proper certificates from the Officer commanding stating the name, Military
rank and Military address of their husbands and produce the same as and
when required by the Commission (G.O.(MS) No. 509/64/Edn. Dated
19.9.1964, G.O.(MS) No. 614/65/Edn. Dated 09.11.65 and G.O.(MS)
No.243/ 66/Edn. Dated 27.5.66).
(ii) First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of
appointment as Teachers (G.O.(MS) No.122/75/G.Edn. dated 27.05.1975
and GO(MS) No. 50/70/PD dated 12/02/1970)
(iii) Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are
graduates and are otherwise qualified will be exempted from upper age limit.
[G.O (Ms) No. 185/70/Edn. Dated 18/04/1970 and G.O (Ms) No. 466/70/Edn.
Dated 11/11/1970]. They should produce proper certificates from authorities
concerned as and when required by the commission.
Note:- The candidates who claim concessions by virtue of any of the above reason
should state “Are you eligible for age relaxation” as “yes” on the online
application and give details in the space following.
