The above vacancies are now in existence. The list of selected candidates published by the
Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year
provided that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of
the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlear. Candidates will
be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and the vacancies that may be reported
to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the list.
5 Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment
6 Age limit : Age 18-36
Only candidates born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1994
(both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with
usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and
Other Backward Communities. (for other conditions
regarding the age relaxation please see part 2 of the
General Conditions)
7 Qualifications:
(1) B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry or Physics of a recognized university.
(2) Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses
Right Eye Left Eye
(i) Distant vision - 6/6 snellen 6/6 snellen
(ii) Near vision - 0.5 snellen 0.5 snellen
Each eye must have a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any
morbid condition of the eye or lids of either eye shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
Note: The visual standards mentioned above should be certified by a Medical Officer not below the
rank of an Assistant Surgeon and required certificate obtained in the form prescribed should
be produced at the time of interview.

Training:- The person appointed to the post shall undergo training for a period of six months at
the Finger Print Bureau, Thiruvananthapuram or any other Bureau of Training Institution as
may be specified by the Inspector General of Police and shall pass the examination prescribed
for such training within the period of probation.
Bond:- Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond intending to serve the State
Government for a period of not less than three years after training and to pay the State
Government a specified amount that may be fixed by the Government from time to time as per
rules in case he fails to serve the State Government.
